Talmud Time

On a recent pilgrimage to the Good ‘Ol U.S. of A, while strolling along the main drag of Palm Springs on market day, we came across this colourful character busy schmoozing passersby. Unfortunately, this woman was taking too long, so I didn’t get to engage the rabbi and finally get answers to my many outstanding theological and life questions.

It was a refreshing change from the ubiquitous Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses and other bothersome Christian evangelists spreading their dubious gospels hither and yon. Good to see our Jewish brethren getting out there too to spread their version of holy words. I think they may have a bit of catching up to do though.

But in this freewheeling capitalist world that we adore, the marketplace of ideas is not excluded from the laws of competition. So, go forth with my blessing and multiply – Mazel tov, Rabbi!

* Disclosure statement: despite my ‘birthright’ as the son of Rebecca Goldberg, I can solemnly declare that my lifelong calathumpian beliefs are holding firm, at this stage anyway, and no sponsorship was provided for this endorsement.
